Startups play a crucial role in fostering innovation and promoting sustainable development by addressing critical economic, social, and environmental challenges. This study explores the role of startups in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovative solutions and identifies factors that may impact the sustainability of development. The unique characteristics of startups, including their adoption of disruptive innovation theory, new product development, and adaptive business models, enable them to contribute meaningfully to SDG challenges related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, prosperity, peace, and justice. By leveraging secondary data, this research illuminates key themes surrounding sustainable innovation and business model evolution. The findings reveal that while startups possess significant potential for sustainable development, they encounter several barriers, such as financial constraints, regulatory challenges, and fluctuating market demands. To maximize their impact, enhanced collaboration, policy support, and effective risk management are essential. This paper offers practical insights for stakeholders to cultivate an ecosystem that fosters sustainable innovation through startups.
